As a BLAC intern, I was selected into a highly competitive cohort of creative thinkers to receive professional development in advertising. During my twelve weeks I was simultaneously placed at an agency in New York City named Periera O’Dell. As a brand-strategist intern, I conducted research for leading national brands including Zelle, Oreo, and Fifth Third Bank. My research aided in formulating the brand strategy for several projects including new business pitches.
At the conclusion of my time with Pereira O’Dell I was briefed by P&G representatives on a real-world business problem for one of their leading national brands. I developed the brand strategy for my team’s pitch which was later developed into a full-service campaign in collaboration with nine other interns. We presented our ideas to P&G representatives a week after we were briefed.
